The SaddleBrooke Men’s Golf Association (SMGA) hosted its annual three day Member-Member Tournament on November 6, 7 and 10. One hundred ten members paired up and competed in this partner’s better ball tournament separated into four flights.
Teams were paid for their positions in daily play as well as overall results. Winners were declared in both gross and net standings. At the end of the tournament on Wednesday the final standings were as follows:
Flight 1: Gross score standings, Bill Lich and Doug Swartz first place; Jim Konon and Beaver Simpson second place and Barry Swartzburg and Tom Herrmann in third. Net score standings were Barry Swartzburg and Tom Herrmann in first place and Terry Edwards and Frank Romero and Mike Finn and Mark Kohlrus tied for second place.
Flight 2: Gross standings, Bill Clarkin and Larry Crum in first place; Rick Wilson and Roy Wheeler in second place and Tom Shephard and Lyman Ashley in third place. Net standings, Bill Clarkin and Larry Crum in first place; Rick Wilson and Roy Wheeler in second place and a three way tie for third place between Rick Tessitore and Gordon Wendlandt, Phil Cohen and Paul Lapatosky and Dennis McCabe and Ken Haddad.
Flight 3: Gross standings, a two way tie for first place between Roy Stigers and John Pavlak and Tom Albaugh and Dave Bentzel and a three way tie for third place between Ken Ritz and Glenn Davis, Paul Lyons and Roger Cady and Gary Vargas and Ron Curtis. Net standings in Third Flight, another three way tie for first place between Ken Ritz and Glenn Davis, Gary Vargas and Ron Curtis and Ned Irwin and Duane Kupper.
Flight 4: Gross standings, first place to Ted Shin and Marc Webb, second place to Stuart Scott and Randy Spencer and third place to Dick Mochel and Al Towle. Net score standings, a tie between the teams of Ted Shin and Marc Webb and Dick Mochel and Al Towle and a tie for third place between Stuart Scott and Randy Spencer and Richard Steinsvaag and Jim Friedrich.
Winners were announced at the tournament dinner held in the Vistas Restaurant of the SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse. Congratulations to all the winning teams and to all who competed in this tournament.
