Dan Schroeder and Bob Eder

This year’s M-PMGA Member Guest which was held over four days (April 2 through 5), began with a team putting and chipping contest followed by a BBQ where the 70 participants had some fun and got to know each other a little better. Art Wieda and Bob Galusha won the overall chipping and putting title, while Bruce Fink and Greg Gill came out on top for the putting competition and Jack Hammar and Ed Holland won the chipping contest.

Over the next three days each team played a different two man game competing within their flight for prize money each day at SaddleBrooke Ranch, The Preserve and MountainView. On Friday afternoon all teams participated in a separate Shoot Out, alternate shot, game that was won by Mick Borm and Rob Anderson. The Overall Champions for combined play across all three days were Don Erickson and Jarrod Thayer. Runners up were Bruce Fink and Greg Gill. Competition was tight in all four flights with 90% of the teams winning either cash or prizes during the event. The other flight winners were Mick Borm and Rob Anderson, Dan Alderman and John Bost and Jack Hammar and Ed Holland.

A special thanks to Robson Resort Communities, our tournament sponsor, for their generous support of cash, golf certificates and providing complimentary golf at SaddleBrooke Ranch.

An event like this is truly a team effort and would not be possible without the many volunteers. They handled check in, the putting and chipping contest, running the Shoot Out and monitoring our hole-in-one competitions for a new Lexus and Golf Cars of Arizona golf cart. Alas there were no hole-in-one winners this year, but there were some close shots on each. Mike Jahaske and his staff also did a wonderful job preparing all three courses which were in excellent condition. Everyone raved about our food at each of our four meals that were organized and delivered with high quality by the HOA 2 Food & Beverage staff. Even the weather cooperated with mild temperatures, sunny skies and light winds all three days.
