Travis will be bringing a spectacular selection of night sky photos taken through the large Mt. Lemmon telescope that visitors get to use.

The Binary Neutron Star Merger of August 16, 2017 by Lockwood Carlson

Lockwood will speak on the Astronomy aspects of the first detected neutron star merger.

Carlson is a retired physicist who keeps current with the latest cosmology discoveries, teaches for the Institute For Learning In Retirement and is a past SkyGazer president.

March 11, 2018 – 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Venus Unveiled by Richard Spitzer

A look at the discoveries made about Venus from earliest historic times through the space race and current observations.

Spitzer is a retired science/computer teacher who taught high school astronomy.

Star Parties are held at the Softball Field.

January 19, Friday – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Moon, Uranus, Orion Nebula, Andromeda Galaxy, ET Star Cluster, Almach colorful double star

February 13, Tuesday – 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Beehive star cluster, Orion Nebula, Andromeda Galaxy, Double Star Cluster

March 19, Monday – 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. – Moon, Mercury and Venus, Moon, Pinwheel Galaxy, double star Castor, Crab Nebula
