Rotary Literacy Program

Tim Morsani

The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke has a mandate from Rotary International to make literacy and the improvement of literacy one of its top priorities. Part of that endeavor involves the distribution of books and dictionaries to elementary school students.

In the past twelve months, over 3,000 books and 152 dictionaries have been delivered personally into the hands of students in San Manuel, Mammoth, Catalina, Oracle and Sycamore Canyon Academy. The students are mostly pre-school through 6th grade; the books are age-appropriate and hard cover.

SaddleBrooke Rotarians participating in this on-going project are George Corrigan, Lyle Wood, Chris Millar, Barbara Barr, Rudy Faller, Neil Deppe, Bill Fry and Wendy Guyton.

If reaching out and actually touching members of our community with good deeds sounds like it would fit into your busy retirement schedule, please visit us at SaddleBrookeRotary.com or phone president Neil Deppe at 520-297-4858. Come and have lunch with us any Thursday.
