With the right group of people we can do anything

For years the Pet Rescue Network received calls from residents and the patrol about dogs and cats found in the Brooke without identification. The first step to find an owner is a microchip check and that meant waiting for the vet to open and transporting the animal to Catalina. We were generally delayed a day or more in search of an emergency foster.

Thanks to generous donations from the SaddleBrooke Dog Park, Karyle Steele and Suzanne Bassett, we can now check for chips as soon as we receive the call. Our state-of-the-art scanner reads most any microchip and provides the chip company to contact for owner details. The Network never ceases to be amazed at the wonderful people in our community!

Sadly, our first lost dog had no chip. While she’s posted on lost and found sites, we’re actively looking for a home for this sweet girl who is completely housetrained, loves to walk and cuddle and is very obedient. Molly is 35 pounds, approximately two years old and spayed. She has moderate energy so an active family who will take her on long walks and has a fenced yard is required.
