Gospel rescue mission

Dick Kroese

Community Church of SaddleBrooke (CCSB) was privileged to have Pastor Roy Tullgren, Executive Director of the Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM), deliver a very touching message recently. In that message, he told of the need of the poor in our community.

Despite the arson fire at the men’s center that destroyed their Family Services Offices, supplies, storage space and donation yard, thanks to their staff and many volunteers they have continued to provide for the needs of the poor on the sidewalk and in two mini-mobile units.

One of the truly amazing things about GRM is that no one in need will be turned away any time, day or night. GRM is a member of the Arizona Tax Credit Consortium. For the year 2016, the amount has doubled dollar-for-dollar for the Arizona tax credit for the working poor. Single individuals can receive a tax credit for $400 with $800 for married households. Thanks to support in 2015, GRM provided 69,529 bed nights for men, women and children and served 296,954 meals.

Community Church has been a steady donor to GRM for the last 11 years has and, over that period of time, has donations that exceed over $104,000. CCSB meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke DesertView Theatre. We are an all denominational Christian Church and all are welcome.
