Daughters of the American Revolution

Danna C. Koelling

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a nonprofit service organization. Membership is based on documented proof of direct lineage to a person who served in the war. Service can be military, patriotic, civil or a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

DAR is involved in many projects locally and around the world: Literacy promotion and civic education, scholarships, historic preservation, service in the community such as supporting our veterans, properly retiring worn flags of the United States of America and working at pet rescue centers.

DAR was organized in 1890 and has had almost one million members. Are you interested in preserving your lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot?

The local chapter will have members available to talk about the application process on Monday, February 13 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Oro Valley Library on Naranja Drive. Bring what documentation you have on your lineage. We will help you with the process. If you have questions, please call 520-488-7707.
