Why Community Church?

Kerry Blount

That is a question asked by many folks when they are considering a church to attend.

I asked the same question when I first moved to SaddleBrooke some 11 years ago. My wife and I walked into Community Church at SaddleBrooke (CCSB) back then and the feeling was completely different than it is today. There was a feeling of isolation, no camaraderie, everyone pretty much sat apart from each other and not a lot of conversation went on.

We noticed that the sermons were being preached by a nice man that liked to talk in theory and generality – not what we were looking for. What we wanted was a Biblical based church – one that taught directly from the Bible, without theory, and one that stressed Christ-centered living.

We attended some other churches, having to drive quite a ways to get there, but none hit the mark. At that time we were living in SaddleBrooke part-time so we just figured we would continue looking each time we came back.

And then it happened; Community Church hired Pastor Ron Gannett. What I can tell you is that if you tried Community Church in the past and it wasn’t what you were looking for – you need to try it again.

The whole feeling of the church has evolved from those early days. The church is now filled with happy people, talkative and friendly, and they want everyone to feel a part of the church. Pastor Ron is one of the best preachers you will ever hear. His knowledge of the Bible is unsurpassed and his friendly, down to earth style will put you at ease. His sense of humor will have you chuckling – no stuffiness here. Ron always interjects stories from his life experiences and ties them to passages in the Bible in a way that will have you relating.

We also have an excellent Assistant Pastor, Steve Wilson. Steve is an ex-NFL referee who has a great style and a great delivery. You’ll love his stories and you’ll be amazed when he breaks out into a poem. He is a breath of fresh air.

So, why Community Church?

Friendly, happy people

Excellent, Bible centered teaching

Relaxed, casual environment

Fantastic lessons

Numerous missions and ministries to get involved in if you want

And lastly I guarantee you will learn something with every sermon that you can apply to your everyday life.

CCSB meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke DesertView Theatre.

We are an all-denominational Christian Church and all are welcome.
