Spring 2017 Classes

Our spring trimester class calendar is loaded with classes from January through April. These classes are held in our newly renovated classroom equipped with 16 PCs and eight Macs all for student use during class. Or, you can also bring your own laptop and connect to our classroom WiFi. Go to our website at www.saddlebrookecc.org and click on Calendar to see what classes are being given and when. To attend a class, you need to enroll using the Enrollment > Classroom item on the website. You will need your club login credentials to access this area.

Online Classes

In addition to our classroom-based classes, we also have online classes that are accessible from our website. Once again, you need to be a club member to access the full complement of online classes and User Group video replays.

What if I’m not a member of the Computer Club?

First, we have opportunities for any SaddleBrooke resident, whether you are a Computer Club member or not. As a community service, one of our online classes, Computer Security” is open to everyone. Just go to saddlebrookecc.org, select Enrollment > eLearn and click the Computer Security image to launch the online class. No login is required for that one.

Our Users Group meetings are also open to any SaddleBrooke resident. These meetings usually have a computer subject speaker and include question and answer sessions with knowledgeable PC and Apple instructors. The featured speaker in January is Dian Lineback, presenting on Adapting The iPhone/iPad as We Age. Dian is an Apple expert and former Apple employee, who always gives an excellent presentation. A prize drawing is held at the end of the meeting.

How do I join the Computer Club?

You don’t have to be a member to experience some of our events, but if you want full access to all of our classroom and online classes you will want to join. One single fee will make you eligible for all of our classes for the entire 2017 calendar year. Just go to www.saddlebrookecc.org and click on the Membership link on the top menu for full details on how you can join online. If you have questions about joining the club or on how to register for a class, you may contact our registrar, Alice Stuart, at 520-825-4239.

Did you know—?

Self-driving cars are all over the news these days. But they aren’t perfect. In a maneuver known to bicyclists as the right hook, Uber self-driving vehicles will take right turns across bike lanes right in front of an on-coming bicycle. Oops!

And, did you know—?

For streaming TV enthusiasts, the free web version of Hulu is history. But the paid Hulu Plus service has been enhanced. An $11.99 per month no commercials service has been added to the existing $7.99 per month flavor, with limited commercials.
