Victoria the Queen returns to SaddleBrooke

Barbara Williams

She’s coming back to the ‘Brooke-—this time she’s married and with a baby! MASTERPIECE: Victoria, the celebrated drama series chronicling the epic life of Queen Victoria, will return to PBS 6 beginning January 14, 2018 at 9:00 p.m. SaddleBrooke residents will again have an opportunity to view an exclusive pre-screening. Arizona Public Media PBS 6 invites you to attend the sneak preview of Season Two of MASTERPIECE: Victoria on Wednesday, January 10 at DesertView Theater from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Jerrold E. Hogle, PhD., who has done a memorable job on elaborating on Downton Abbey and Victoria Season One, will return as commentator. He is a Distinguished Professor in the Honors College and the Department of English at the University of Arizona. Following Dr. Hogle’s remarks, the first hour of Episode One of Season Two of MASTERPIECE: Victoria will be shown.

Created and scripted by best-selling novelist Daisy Goodwin, MASTERPIECE: Victoria Season Two will air in seven episodes. In this new season actress Jenna Coleman returns as Queen Victoria, the young monarch who wants it all—-romance, power, an heir and personal freedom. She was England’s longest serving monarch, serving for over 63 years. (Elizabeth II has since overtaken her in September 2015.)

This presentation is a project of Unit 32 residents Margaret and Martin Falkowski, Patty and Tom Killoran, Barb and Phil Williams, Carol and Lance Erie, Dave and Suzanne Marty, Jim and Meg Rau, Jim and Judy Pyers, Karen Umemoto and Norma Weaver. Tickets are free, but seating is limited. Register for your free tickets at www.azpm.org/sbvictoria2 beginning December 1. Remember, tickets for both Downton Abbey Comes to SaddleBrooke and Victoria Season One went quickly. A free drawing of Arizona Public Media and Victoria promotions will also be part of the program.
