Try Tai Chi

Carol Emerson

Tai Chi is a classical Chinese exercise of up to 108 rhythmical movements that benefit the heart, tone the muscles, improve balance and coordination, loosen the joints and bring the mind and body into harmony. It is one of the most recommended exercise methods for people as we age since it is not strenuous, can be done anywhere and is easy to learn.

Carol and Ken Emerson have been teaching Tai Chi in SaddleBrooke for nearly 10 years. They are both black belt instructors who take time to focus on the needs of each individual in the class. People say they are amazed how much their balance and lower body strength improves and how calm they feel after class. Come and see for yourself!

Each one hour class consists of:

Gentle warm-up exercises to loosen up the muscles and joints

Exercise of the Five Elements — a Chi Kung practice that builds the life force and nourishes the internal organs

Instruction in the Yang style Tai Chi form
