Summer can be a pretty lazy time here in the Brooke. Good thing Tai Chi is a relaxed yet effective way to stay active. Classes tend to be a little smaller as well, so it’s almost like getting private lessons. Here are the top 10 reasons to practice in the summer.

Ken and Carol Emerson teach Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. They are both certified black belts and members of the Ching Yi Kung Fu Association. Beginning students learn Tai Chi basics and a short seventeen move form. Intermediate and advanced students take the study further, learning the entire 108 movement Yang Style Tai Chi form.

June Schedule:

Beginning Classes are Thursday 11:00-noon (June 5, 12, 19) and Saturday noon-1:00 p.m. (June 7, 14, 21)

Advanced Class is Saturday 1:00-2:30 p.m. (June 7, 14, 21, 28)

Classes are held at the fitness room near the Mesquite Grill in HOA No. 2. Beginning classes are $11 per class or purchase 5 tickets for $55 and you get one additional class free. Intermediate and advanced classes are $10 or 6 classes for $50. Advance registration is recommended.
