On Saturday, February 7, the eighth hole at the MountainView Golf Course yielded yet another hole-in-one. This time Rick Savoie, a member in good standing of the M-PMGA and long-time resident of SaddleBrooke, scored his second hole-in-one. Not bad for any golfer and especially so for one who has only been playing for about 40 years! Rick’s playing partner for this afternoon round was friend and neighbor Aaron (Rusty) Russ. The flag, they guessed, was about 120 yards from their teeing area and Rick selected a nine iron for his shot. He knew he had a chance when the ball landed two feet right of the cup and slowly started drifting left. Seconds later it disappeared. As Rick and Rusty approached the green Rusty volunteered to retrieve the ball. Rick quickly responded, “Stay in the cart—will get the ball—- I want to hear the crowd roar when I take the ball out of the hole.” There was however one small problem—only the ducks in the pond were in attendance and they displayed no appreciation whatsoever. Rick, congratulations again and enjoy your special moment.
