SaddleBrooke Troop Support (STS) announces its annual American Heroes luncheon for 2016 featuring two local heroes from Tucson’s own 162nd Wing of the Arizona Air National Guard.

The program will be in Vistas Restaurant at the HOA One Clubhouse on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. Presentation of Colors is at 11:55 a.m. with plated luncheon served at noon followed by speakers and Q&A. Reservations, $35 per person, include lunch and dessert but are limited in number; advance purchase is recommended. Make yours online at sts-1.org where you can use PayPal or print the form and mail a check to STS.

Two days prior to Veterans Day this year, STS has the honor of welcoming Lieutenant Colonel Bryan Rhodes and Chief Master Sergeant Armando Gonzalez from the 162nd Wing, Arizona Air National Guard. The 162nd is the largest Air National Guard fighter wing in the country with over 1600 military members and 74 F-16s based at Tucson International Airport. Since its founding in 2005, STS has been a proud supporter of the 162nd.

Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes, Wing Inspector General, will brief on the 162nd’s wide-ranging missions as warfighter, guardian and community partner. After eight years enlisted service, Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes earned his commission in 1996 and completes 30 years’ service in January 2017 in a variety of command and staff assignments.

Another career-long Arizona Guardsman is Command Chief Master Sergeant Gonzales, senior enlisted advisor to the Wing Commander. He will discuss deployments to the Middle East as well as their multi-faceted roles in ready, responsive and effective Global Vigilance—Global Reach—Global Power.

Although neither Chief Gonzalez nor Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes would use these words themselves, come meet two of Tucson’s own Local Heroes, keeping our nation safe in peacetime and war. They truly appreciate SaddleBrooke’s support and will be available before and after the presentation to answer your questions.
