Spring Grandkids Day 2016 March 25 & 26

Once again this spring, SaddleBrooke clubs have some great events planned for visiting grandkids and their parents and grandparents, too! Bring your young visitors to any or all of these fun activities! No reservations necessary! Questions can be answered by contacts below.

Friday, March 25

Introductory Bird Watching for children age six and older, their parents and grandparents, will be held on Friday, March 25 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. by Bob and Prudy Bowers. Bring hats, sunscreen, water and binoculars if you have them. Directions: from Ridgeview turn east onto Desert Trail Drive, turn left onto Desert Sun, then right onto Stoney Ridge, pass the stop sign on S. Ocotillo Canyon Drive and turn right onto Desert Sky Lane and park at the end of the cul-de-sac. Contact: Bob or Prudy at 825-9895.

Kids can paint a Ceramic object of their choosing under the guidance of the SaddleBrooke Ceramics Club on Friday, March 25 in the Ceramics Club Room in the HOA 2 Arts and Craft Complex. There will be two sessions: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for children age two to eight and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for children age nine to 14. Arrive anytime during the first 45 minutes of your child’s allotted time slot. All children must be accompanied by an adult. An old shirt or tee shirt is recommended to protect clothing. All painting supplies will be provided by the Ceramics Club. Contact: Jean at 825-4424.

Enthusiasts will display their model train layouts on Friday, March 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the addresses listed below. Contact: Jack at 818-1598.

Saturday, March 26

SaddleBrooke Swim Club will host an Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26 on the lawn in front of MountainView Clubhouse. Preschoolers will meet in the Sonoran Room at MountainView between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. with the hunt beginning at 9:45 a.m. Kids from grades K through three will meet in the Sonoran Room between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. with the hunt starting at 10:30 a.m. Contact: Doug at 207-667-0234.

A SaddleBrooke Nature Exhibit conducted by Jerry Schudda and the Catalina Nature Program volunteers is planned for Saturday, March 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the HOA 1 Arts and Crafts Patio. All residents and their families and friends are invited. Contact: Jerry at 744-4274.

A Softball Skills Clinic, including hitting, throwing and running, for kids of all ages will be hosted by the SaddleBrooke Senior Softball Association on Saturday, March 26 at the HOA 2 Softball Field. We’ll be serving ice cream to all participants at the end of the skills camp. Pre-teens session begins at 1:00 p.m. and teenagers session at 2:00 p.m. Contact: Steve at 818-7676.
