Sonoran Singers enjoys potluck

Georgie Hourigan

Before all the snowbirds leave for cooler climes, Sonoran Singers had a wonderful potluck party at the home of Rick and Janie Grinstead. We gathered around the piano to sing to the men. Judy Bram played her harmonica to Shenandoah, bringing tears to eyes as some reported it is so moving. Dream a Little Dream of Me also was a hit.

To honor two of our very special hard-working gals, we sang Grateful to the tune of Crazy and gave them special thank you cards with the words of the song on them. Liz Spielman is the card maker and did an excellent job. The honorees are Dorothy Kreuger who has had the challenging job of librarian for quite a number of years which she is turning over to Karen Ball who has generously offered to take on the task and Sharon Cotter who has been official photographer and worked tirelessly to put together a membership directory with each member’s picture.

Everyone brought a dish to share and there was plenty of time to visit and enjoy each other’s company in the Grinstead’s lovely home and patio where the weather was close to perfect. Carolyn Cochran is our accompanist and we could not do it without her on the piano.

Sonoran Singers does not routinely give concerts. We are available to come to your parties and we mostly sing in assisted living venues.

Sonoran Singers also sings for PEO and Golf luncheons and other events here in SaddleBrooke.
