Softball announces winter champs

The busy winter softball season is over. We had twenty-two teams in eight leagues competing for the top spots. Now for the results:

Patrick Shaffer Dentistry Monday Recreation League

Tim Benjamin led the Danny Nolan, Handy Man team to 10 wins and 4 losses to capture first place. Window Wizard players, managed by Bob Cole, finished in second with 4 wins and 10 losses.

Hometeam Pest Defense Monday Community League

BRAKEmax came out on top with 10 wins, only 4 losses, with Gary Green as manager. Second place went to Crystal Tech Vivopools under Debbie Seguin with 7 wins and 7 losses. Shifren Physical Therapy, led by Jim Takacs, finished third with a record of 6 wins, 8 losses. Humana finished fourth with 5 wins, 9 losses, managed by Howie Emmons.

Vantage West Credit Union Tuesday Competitive League

Jim Click Hyundai-Mazda, Tim Ward manager, topped the league with 12 wins, 6 losses. We had a tie for second place. Bill Spevak led the DS Builders & Remodeling team; Joe Sanders led the Caliber Collision team, and both finished up with 8 wins and 11 losses.

Coyote Golf Cars Tuesday Community League

A tie! Both teams ended the season with 7 wins and 7 losses. Vern Boothby managed Crystal Tech Vivopools and Rich Hagerty was in charge of Johnston’s Pest Solutions players.

Patrick Shaffer Dentistry Thursday Coyote League

The Vital Moves team, Jim Smith at the helm, had 12 wins and 6 losses to win the championship. They scored nearly 70 more runs than the second place team, BRAKEmax, with Ken Meinhart as manager. This team had 9 wins, 10 losses. Jim Click Hyundai-Mazda finished third, with 7 wins, 12 losses; Ron Quarantino was their skipper.

Hometeam Pest Defense Thursday Recreation League

This was a close race. Jake Jacobson led the players of Bank of the West to 8 wins, 6 losses. Caliber Collision had 6 wins, 8 losses; team managed by Paul Jarzembinski.

Vantage West Credit Union Friday Competitive League

With 358 total runs, more than any team this season, first place went to It’s Greek to Me led by Bob Chiarello. It was a tight race down to the last week, but this team finished with 12 wins, 7 losses. Second place went to SaddleBrooke R Us managed by Bruce Fink with 11 wins, 8 losses. Shifren Physical Therapy, Mike Hamm-led, ended the season with 5 wins, 14 losses.

Coyote Golf Cars Friday Community League

Vital Moves, with manager Debbie Seguin, led the way with 14 wins, only 4 losses. Second place went to Central Alarm, John Nola managing, with 9 wins, 10 losses. John Perfetti managed Via Elegante to 5 wins, 14 losses, and a third place finish.
