Senior Village at SaddleBrooke – Neighbors helping Neighbors

Support Senior Village and get a tax credit at the same time

Sandy Morse

We are so fortunate to live in a state that lets us designate where our charitable tax credit donations go. What better place to donate than right in our own backyard, to our own Senior Village of SaddleBrooke. Although Senior Village is only about two years old, we are astounded by the increasing need in our community, yet are overjoyed by the interest and support of our SaddleBrooke neighbors. We currently are providing services to 340 members and have an amazing 156 dedicated volunteers who give of their time and talent to provide these services.

There are over 215 “Villages” in the country, and we are proud to say our yearly dues of $48 for a single and $60 for a couple, are among the lowest. How can we do this much with so little? Well, it’s all because of you, our generous donors! Now we are pleased to announce that Senior Village at SaddleBrooke, Inc., has been designated as both an Arizona Qualified Charitable Organization to go along with our Federal 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. Therefore, when you make a donation to Senior Village, it becomes a tax credit on your AZ income tax (up to $400 for single or $800 for joint returns). You do not need to itemize, but you must file AZ Forms 321 and 301 (both forms and instructions can be downloaded at www.azdor.gov/Forms/Credits.aspx).

You can claim this credit on either your 2017 AZ income tax return (if you donated before the filing deadline of April 17, 2018) or on your 2018 AZ income tax return. If you itemize on your Federal income tax return, your contribution is a tax deduction for 2018. As always, please consult your own tax advisor for details.

Just think how good you will feel knowing you made a difference in our community; for when you donate to Senior Village at SaddleBrooke, more of our residents can receive the helping hand and support they need to live independently and remain here in our beautiful community for as long as possible.
