SB Lady Niners seeing double

Barbara Johnson

On April 24 the SaddleBrooke Lady Niners enjoyed their annual Ladies Choice Tournament, and we were all seeing double! That’s because the theme this year was “Twins.” Each lady played with a gentleman who was not her spouse or significant other and they dressed alike. Most had on the same color shirt and shorts as their partner and some even had the same color hair—double the fun! The weather was absolutely perfect on that day, as the pairs set out for a Modified Chapman format for nine holes. After a fun round of golf, everyone reported to the Vistas Dining Room for some camaraderie and a delicious luncheon of chicken and sour cream enchiladas.

After lunch, drinks and laughter, Assistant Pro Troy Jewkes announced the day’s winners: 1st place, Yvonne Garthwaite and Floyd Roman; 2nd place, Abbie Egolf and Duane Kupper and 3rd place, Sharon Dicosola and Dave Thompson; closest to the pin, Abbie Egolf and Tom Basting.

As you can see, it was a good day to be named Egolf (quadruplets instead of twins?) A big congratulations to all the winners! We also want to thank our Ladies Choice Committee, as well as our photographer Bob Koblewski, our men helpers Bob Johnson and Tom Larkin, and especially our two Pros, Bernie Eaton and Troy Jewkes.
