Save the Date for SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild

Marty Fisher and Karen Brungardt

The SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild is a nonprofit organization that serves to encourage public art appreciation and to enhance the skills of people at all levels of experience through multimedia art classes and community art outreach programs. Fundraising outreach programs are also an important part of their mission to provide monetary contributions that will make a difference to the community.

Their current fundraising program is an Art and Wine Party – an evening of wine, food, painting, and fun. All contributors will complete an acrylic painting of a saguaro cactus against a sunset sky, using templates drawn on the canvas by members of the SBFAG. No experience needed. This event will be on March 31, 2020, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Activities Center on Galveston. Watch the club website for more information.

Their ongoing community outreach program is the free, one day “I Can’t Even Draw A Stick Figure!” class. In this class, students complete at least four projects including two drawings, a watercolor sunset painting, and a collage, while also learning about other mediums. The next session will be April 14, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., so watch the club website for the registration form.

The “Art in the Saddle” wine and art party was on Jan. 22, 2020. All proceeds were donated to TROT, Therapeutic Riding of Tucson. TROT provides equine-assisted activities and therapies for children with physical and developmental disabilities and therapeutic riding programs for adults and veterans. TROT appreciates our veterans so much that their programs are provided free to veterans. More information can be found at www.trotarizona.org.
