SaddleBrooke Writer’s Group

Joan Elder

The SaddleBrooke Writers Group is people who love to write. Some write for their own enjoyment, some write personal memoirs for family to cherish, some write to publish, but we all write. Some members write prose, some poetry and some even do both. Our membership is open to all residents of SaddleBrooke with huge dues of $5 annually!

The SaddleBrooke Writers Group meets on the first and third Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Saguaro Room of the MountainView Clubhouse. Our season is from October through April. Every other year we present a Coffee House where members read original pieces to family and friends. That event will take place again in 2018.

Once a year the members enjoy a workshop on varying topics. This year our workshop was held November 5. It was presented by Heather Nagami, the Language Arts teacher we work with at Basis Oro Valley. Heather is an accomplished poet and will engage participants in a poetry workshop called The Lists.

The SaddleBrooke Writers Group welcomes new members at any time. If you prefer to attend a regular meeting where members read original works – either of their choosing or on one of the suggested topics we select for each meeting – please join us on November 19. If you have any interest in writing, please come and check out the SaddleBrooke Writers Group. Any questions, call Joan Elder at 825-0190.
