SaddleBrooke Singers rehearse for holiday concert

After taking the summer off after their Spring Concert, the SaddleBrooke Singers will begin rehearsals on September 14 for their Holiday Concert, which will be performed on December 5 and 7. The Spring Concert, The Best of Broadway, was well received by those who attended, receiving many accolades for a job well done. One satisfied patron wrote, “Pride, pleasure and professional entertainment are what we felt and heard last evening. Linda Griffin’s music choices were exceptional and sung equally so. The appropriate choir attire, punctuated by the red staging—how striking!”

The theme for the Holiday Concert will be Ring the Bells. This large chorale, made up of all SaddleBrooke residents, will present a program of songs guaranteed to put you in the spirit of the season and under the spell of your long lost holiday memories. The program will include songs of both the secular and sacred varieties: some that will dig deep into your hearts and some that will get your toes tappin’. Get your season kicked off in style with the SaddleBrooke Singers under the direction of Linda Griffin.

New members that live in the SaddleBrooke Community with experience in choral music are always welcome. We rehearse every Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Activity Center in HOA 1 beginning September 14 for the fall season. If you would like to join us please contact our President Sam Page at 825-1047.

The officers of the club are Sam Page, president, Rich LaRosa, vice president, Sally Sample, secretary, Jim Barrett, treasurer and Loretta Tom, librarian.

The SaddleBrooke Singers will continue their Sponsor Program this season to assure continuance of the financial needs of the group and to give sponsors the opportunity to support fine choral music in our community.

Ruby Level Sponsors: Contributions from $50 to $99

Emerald Level Sponsors: Contributions between $100 and $199

Diamond Level Sponsors: Contributions between $200 and 299

Platinum Level Sponsors: Contributions over $300

All sponsors will have their names listed in the two concert programs following their contribution with additional benefits depending on the level of sponsorship. All sponsors may continue contributing in successive years in any category desired. We hope to meet expenses of music increases and concert costs through sponsors. Because we are a nonprofit organization, all monies left over after all yearly expenses are met, including an ongoing reserve fund, will be given to a charity or charities, the names of which will be announced at our concerts.

The Holiday Concerts are on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 7 at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $18 at the MountainView ticket office or the DesertView Theatre website, http://tickets.saddlebrooketwo.com. For more information contact Sam Page at 825-1047.
