The LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships were held in Las Vegas from September 25-October 4. There were 484 teams that played in 10 age brackets ranging from Women 40s to Men’s 85 in increments of five years and classifications of AA to Major Plus Divisions.

SaddleBrooke resident Ron Quarantino plays on a 75 Major team, Portland Disposal & Reclamation (PDR). PDR won their division against five other teams over a three day period. Ron has been playing in this tournament since 2006 and the teams he has played for have won in the 65, 70 and now the 75 division. The teams in the 75 age brackets were from the states of Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Illinois and Arkansas.

Ron is a vital member of SaddleBrooke Senior Softball Association. He can be found playing in the Community, Coyote and Competitive Leagues. Ron also volunteers as a scorekeeper and is an umpire. Congratulations to “Q,” as he is known around the ballpark, on his continued success on the diamond.
