Another Happy Tail

Carole Rossof

There’s a new cat in SaddleBrooke. Meet Abby (formerly Avalon), adopted from Oro Valley Animal Rescue and Rehab. She was literally adopted overnight. SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network (SBPRN) saw a photo of Abby, a beautiful Maine Coon, on Facebook. Not 10 minutes later, SBPRN received a call from Sharon and Vince Gingras about wanting to adopt a cat. They were sent the photo and application, which they completed immediately and returned to rescue. The application was approved and Abby was in her new home the next day! It was love at first sight by all. She is very loving and sweet but not too happy to be held. However, she does like to cuddle by your side.

Welcome to SaddleBrooke, Abby!

New Date for Pet Rescue’s Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon

Carole Rossof

SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network is pleased to announce the Calle Rose Trunk Show is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2, and Thursday, Sept. 3. Tickets are $25 inclusive and go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke One foyer. If you are unable to make the morning sale, tickets may be purchased that day at the SaddleBrooke One administration office after noon and thereafter until all tickets are sold. Make your plans to ensure that you and your friends get your preferred date. Checks made out to SaddleBrooke One, cash, or house account can be used for ticket purchases. Credit cards will be accepted for all Calle Rose purchases.

Doors open at 10 a.m. on event days, with a luncheon served at 11:30 a.m. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of time to shop after the fashion show. Menu: seasonal green salad with grilled chicken, strawberries, goat cheese, and croutons. Two choices of dressing: raspberry or poppy-seed. Dessert: lemon sorbet with a cookie.

There will be a special surprise raffle ticket at each place on the table with a chance to win one of three Calle Rose gifts, as well as an additional special raffle sold with the prize of an acrylic color portrait of your favorite pet valued at $200.

Finally, as always, there will be a 50/25/25 cash prize raffle with tickets being sold at $1 for one and $5 for six. The winner of the acrylic portrait will be drawn after Thursday’s lunch so ticket sales from both days are in the drawing.

All proceeds benefit the care of the homeless animals in Tucson. Remember, payments made with cash, check, or house account will only be accepted for tickets.

Stay safe everyone!
