Eat, Drink and be Trivial! Every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the Agave Lounge join us to play Tuesday Trivia. To be eligible for prizes, the teams will consist of two to six players. If you don’t have a team we can help you form one. Each team will only be eligible to win the weekly prize once a month and the monthly prize once a quarter. Trivia continues to be as much fun as you can have in an hour! Come on down and see what the fun is all about!

Monday, January 13 is the next Bingo which is played the second Monday of every month in the Vistas Dining Room. Bingo sales begin at 5:30 p.m. Early Bird Bingo is at 6:45 p.m. and regular Bingo begins at 7:00 p.m. Prices start as low as $3.00 per pack for 11 games; cash only! Seating is limited so come early! Wednesday, January 15 Wine Tastings return. We start the New Year with new wines. These wines have never been at SaddleBrooke. The wines are Scharffenberger Brut, California, Seven Falls Chardonnay, Washington, Eppa White Sangria, Spain, Esser Pinot Noir, California, Anderra Carmenere, Chile and Hidden Crush Cabernet Sauvignon, Central Coast.

Tickets are $15.00 per person and are on sale now in the Administration Office.

Wednesday, January 15 is Cigar Smoker. Join a group of likeminded individuals for camaraderie and laughter. Consider joining many of your friends who have dinner first in the Agave and then meet outside by the fireplace around 6:00 p.m. Bring your own cigars. Drinks of any kind will be available for purchase. Hope to see you there.

Thursday, January 16 is the Barrett-Jackson Car Show. The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is well known for being the premiere classic car auction company in the United States. At the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Show and Auction even the most serious collector will find enticements in the form of some of the most exclusive vehicles available at auction. Featured are more than 1,100 collector and special interest automobiles from all years being auctioned off at No Reserve, as well as daily automobilia auctions. Over 350 vendors and exhibitors will also be on hand.

The bus will leave from the Bocce Court at 8:00 a.m. You will leave Scottsdale at 4:00 p.m. to return to SaddleBrooke. Lunch is on your own and food is available on site. Price is $22.00 per person and includes transportation and driver gratuity. It does not include admission to the car show/auction. Bus only tickets went on sale December 18 at 9:00 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse Foyer. Wednesday, January 22 will feature The Voices of Experience. Broadway and Beyond was such a resounding hit that we are doing it again! A talented group of singers called Voices of Experience will be entertaining you with songs from Broadway, the Great American Songbook and pop music from Marlin Bolar, Jim Barrett, Kathie Barrett, Vicki Cunningham, Monica Gray, Don Holliday, Gail Nelli, Charles Riddell, Ted Robu and Tina Wrbanek. Accompanying the vocalists will be SaddleBrooke Singers director Linda Griffin and Carole Whitney, who will also provide piano music before the show and during intermission

The evening’s menu is Appetizer—antipasto salad of chopped bacon, Havarti cheese, red onion, tomato and black olives with your choice of herb vinaigrette or ranch dressings. Entrées will feature a carving station with slow roasted New York strip loin with bordelaise or roasted tomato hollandaise sauce and stuffed chicken saltimbocca or roasted chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella and fresh sage topped with a wild mushroom-thyme cream sauce. Sides are four cheese potato gratin and oven roasted vegetables. Dessert is a Crème Brule cheesecake with caramel or raspberry sauce.

Friday, January 31 is The Arizona Opry. Join us for a fun filled evening at the annual Opry Rock and Roll show. Enjoy a down home, comfort food menu of savory chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade stuffing, vegetable medley, cole slaw, whole wheat roll and Opry chocolate cake for dessert. All meals include coffee and lemonade. Beer, wine and soft drinks are available at an additional cost. Ice cream sundaes and root beer floats will be available for purchase at intermission. Depart SaddleBrooke at 4:15 for a 6:30 p.m. dinner and a 7:30 p.m. show. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Depart Apache Junction immediately after the show. Saturday, February 1 will bring The Australian Bee Gees. From their early pop music of the 1960s to the golden age when they were disco kings and beyond, the Australian Bee Gees Show incorporates the shockingly exact sound and tone of the Bee Gees with the personality and stage presence of the famous Brothers Gibb. This multimedia concert event is presented from a contemporary perspective featuring state of the art sound, superb lighting and giant screens featuring video clips, live camera images and stunning graphics.

Ticket price is $65.00 per person inclusive of entrance to the show with fabulous seats in Section A 200s and 400s, comfortable and convenient bus transportation and driver gratuity. Wednesday, February 5 is the annual Gem Show trip. Join us for a day of oohs, aahs and shopping! We will be going to the Pueblo Gem and Mineral Show at the Riverpark Inn, a site chosen because of its diversity of offerings to both the jeweler and novice alike. There are well over 200 booths representing countries from around the world offering magnificent finished pieces, stones and materials to fit every budget.

The bus will depart from the Bocce Court at 8:30 a.m. and will return at approximately 4:00 p.m. Two members of the SaddleBrooke Silversmith and Lapidary Club will be on the bus to give pointers, suggestions and guidance. Price is $22.00 per person and includes transportation and driver gratuity. Lunch is on your own and the Riverpark Inn has plenty of areas to purchase food and sit down to eat. Tickets go on sale January 8 at 9:00 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse foyer.

Saturday, February 8 is the Tubac Festival of the Arts. Don’t drive to one of the best festivals Tubac has to offer, take a bus trip! For over 50 years now this has been the go to festival. It is Arizona’s longest running art festival which will feature visiting artists from around the country. There will be food, music, horse drawn trolleys and fun!

The bus will depart from the Bocce Court at 8:00 a.m., and depart Tubac at 3:00 p.m. Price is $22.00 per person and includes transportation and driver gratuity. Lunch is on your own. Tickets go on sale January 8 at 9:00 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse foyer.

Friday, February 14 is Valentine’s Day. Join us for a romantic dinner on Friday, February 14 in the Vistas Dining Room. The evening will start at 5:30 p.m. with passed appetizers. At 6:00 p.m. Chef Dave will again dazzle you with a delightful gourmet dinner. Salad will be mixed greens topped with navel and blood orange segments, shaved manchego cheese and spiced pecans tossed in cinnamon honey vinaigrette. Your choice of three entrées will be pancetta and mozzarella stuffed chicken breast with a caramelized onion cream sauce served with white and wild rice blend and broccolini or tomato and basil stuffed cold water lobster tail topped with avocado sour cream served with roasted fingerling potatoes and sautéed spinach or braised certified Angus beef short rib with a roasted tomato red wine sauce served with creamy mascarpone polenta and roasted asparagus and topped with fried leeks. Dessert will be molten chocolate lava cake with an espresso caramel sauce.

Misbehavin’ will serenade your romantic dinner with background music beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by the music you love to dance to! Price is $45 .00inclusive of tax and gratuity. Saturday, March 29 will bring I Love Lucy: Live on Stage at the University of Arizona Centennial Hall. It’s 1952 and you are a member of the studio audience awaiting the filming of two hilarious and oh so familiar I Love Lucy® episodes. Imagine stepping back in time onto the Desilu Playhouse soundstage where a charming host entertains and enlightens you to the behind the scenes filming process, the 1950’s hi fidelity technology and this brand new thing called television. The episodes begin and you witness firsthand the side splitting antics of that crazy redhead in the Ricardo’s New York apartment and thrill to the Cuban sounds of The Ricky Ricardo Orchestra at the famed Tropicana Nightclub.

Ticket price is $74.00 per person inclusive of entrance to the show with fabulous seats in Section A 200’s and 400’s plus comfortable and convenient bus transportation and driver gratuity. Tickets are on sale now in the Administration Office. Please note the tickets must be purchased by February 29 to ensure this group price. Depart SaddleBrooke at 12:00 noon Saturday, March 29 for a 2:00 p.m. matinee. You will not want to have to do some “splainin’ Lucy” if you miss this fun and laughter filled afternoon.

For a future show at Centennial Hall save the date of June 21, 2014, for Jersey Boys. Tickets will go on sale approximately 60 to 90 days prior to the matinee show.
