On a windy Tuesday, May 13, the 18ers hosted the Niners to a round of golf and lunch in the event named Ladies Amalgamated Golf of SaddleBrooke. Except for the wind it was a beautiful day and the two clubs very much enjoyed the company of each other. This year it was the 18ers that hosted the event which started with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun on the SaddleBrooke Course. The sixty-four women were divided into two groups, the Movers and the Shakers.

The game was a modified scramble and the women did not post, but there were winners, which generated credit in the pro shop. Pro Andy Higgins announced the first place foursome for the Movers and they were Reenie Romey, Robbie Summers, Angie Denahan and Mary Ann Oeschger. The Shakers’ first place winners were Judy Fick, Margery Nemura, Helen Gorham and Opal Larken.

Closest to the Hole prizes went to Helen Suess and Agnes Kowal on hole No. 2. Other winners on the Movers’ team were, second place: Phyllis Sorrells, Sharon Mikolitis, Shirley Hamman and Jan Otto; third place, Brenda Brown, Ann Irwin, Kim Shin and Pat Morris. The Shakers team second place winners were Kathy Demerrit, Pat Avery, Betty Michelsen and Hazel Roper. Third place went to Karen Wendlandt, Janet Rasmusson, Jeanette Eaton and Silkie Bender.

Lunch was a delicious chicken salad on a croissant with lettuce and tomato, fresh fruit cup and brownie a la mode. Each golfer took home a coffee cup filled with goodies.
