Thanks to the help of artist Diana Madaras and a very generous gift from Fairwinds-Desert Point, the Rotary Clubs of SaddleBrooke were able to make substantial gifts to the fine arts departments of three local schools: Oracle’s Mountain Vista School, First Avenue Elementary of San Manuel and Coronado K through 8 each received over $1,000 to support programs of music and art.

The event, held at the MountainView Ballroom, was attended by over 200 people who enjoyed wine and appetizers while listening to Ms. Madaras talk about her youth – growing up in a veterinarian’s home, her successful career as a sports promoter and how she came to be a successful artist. She is very active with philanthropic causes in Tucson and some of the young people around SaddleBrooke are now the beneficiaries.

Club President Joe Guyton extended his appreciation to all club members and attendees for their support and specifically to club member Neil Deppe for his assistance in recruiting Ms. Madaras, auctioneer Emerson Knowles for his generosity and financial acumen and Wendy Guyton for her tireless organizational focus.

Golfers should mark their calendars for Rotary’s next major event – the nineteenth annual Fore For Kids Golf Tournament coming April 7. The 2017 tournament chair, Robert Christadore, is planning another exciting event which will also benefit Tucson’s Ronald McDonald House.

The Rotary Clubs of SaddleBrooke offer avenues for community and international service as well as congenial social venues where members can stay involved in our community in a non-political atmosphere. For further information go to SaddleBrookeRotary.com.
