After a month-long trial period focused on evaluating the move forward of some red tee positions on three of MountainView par 5s, you will notice some changes effective on June 1, 2019: The red tees on holes 3 and 15 will be permanently moved forward to the yellow tee positions! This decision was the result of the trial where golfers were encouraged to try out the new forward tee positions on holes 3, 9 and 15 and respond with a survey sharing their opinions. One hundred and five surveys, from golfers representing a wide range of handicaps, were received and analyzed. The results were reviewed and discussed at the May 14 Golf Committee meeting. The survey results indicated a strong preference in favor of making the red tee position changes. The Golf Committee did not recommend moving MV Red Tee No. 9 forward however, but requested that Paul Hallock extend the 9th fairway back toward the tee boxes as far as practical. Matt Hudson, our SaddleBrooke TWO Head Golf Pro, concurred with the recommendations and selected June 1, 2019, to implement the changes. Matt will contact AGA to coordinate the revised course rating for MV Red Tees to begin on June 1. The current Red Tees rating is 68.3/115 and will be revised to 67.8/114 for the new tee placements. Scores posted from June 1 on will use the new rating and slope.
