The SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network was the beneficiary of a fundraising event staged by the SaddleBrooke Dog Park Association on Tuesday, March 15.

The association raised $1200 with a cowboy-themed People Pawty at the HOA 1 Activity Center. It was attended by 92 of the association’s 225 members. Though none of the members’ 350 dogs participated in the festivities, dog stories dominated the conversations among the Western garbed partygoers.

Leslie Rocco, president of the SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network, said the generous donation pushed the network’s four month fundraising drive over its goal of $10,000. She noted that this was the third consecutive year that the dog park group had staged a fundraiser for the network.

The event featured live entertainment and sing-alongs while attendees dined on grilled hamburgers, barbecued beans and other chuck-wagon grub.

The party was organized by a committee headed by Lauren Jackson and included Micka Triebe, Mo Schween, Carol Jackson and Janice Waller.
