In Passing – September 2014

Harold Ervin Reasoner

Harold Ervin Reasoner (Hal to his friends), passed away peacefully on August 19, 2014, in SaddleBrooke, Arizona, after a long illness. He was born November 11, 1933, and was the oldest of three children born to Vivian (Hanaway) and Joseph Reasoner. Hal grew up in Acton, Indiana, with his sisters, Marjorie and Jane.

He worked at a pharmacy in high school and studied that subject at Butler University where he participated in ROTC. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954 serving as a navigator in air rescue service. Hal married the girl of his dreams Mary Bowman on December 31, 1955, and together they raised three daughters, Mechelle, Rhonda and Jennifer.

After retiring from the Gillette Company in 1992, Hal and Mary moved from California to SaddleBrooke, Arizona, where together they spent many years enjoying golf and being active in the SaddleBrooke community. In addition to golf, Hal enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and spending time with their nine grandchildren whenever they could. Hal is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, his sisters Marjorie Coble, Jane Gorbett and her husband Gary, Mechelle Reasoner, Rhonda and Jamie Cubbon, Jennifer and Steve Dybing, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be welcomed in heaven by his granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Wihtol who preceded him in death.

Hal’s friendly personality, great sense of humor and ready laugh will be missed by all who loved him.
