Outdoor Photographer/Author draws crowd to DIGS meeting

Jim Hagedon

An accomplished nature photographer and author spoke to an attentive audience at a recent Digital Imaging Photography Club of SaddleBrooke (DIGS) meeting. Colleen Miniuk-Sperry spoke on “The Art of Seeing Differently,” a subject very important to any successful or aspiring photographer.

Miniuk-Sperry is also a very dynamic speaker, using her life experiences, her photography and extensive research to make her points. She left her audience ready to grab the nearest camera and head out looking for an opportunity to make some great photographs!

Although she calls Chandler, Arizona her home, Colleen travels extensively throughout North America. She is an annual “Artist in Residence” at Acadia National Park in Maine, preferring to be there in the off-season, when there are no crowds to detract from her work. Colleen’s photographs are published around the world. You may well see some of her work in Arizona Highways, where she is a frequent contributor.

Miniuk-Sperry is no stranger to DIGS and is but one outstanding example of the monthly presentations at each Club meeting during the fall, winter and spring seasons (the second Saturdays of the month). Programs are a mix of outside and Club member presentations, each focused on helping members become better photographers.

Photographers at all levels of photographic experience are welcome to join DIGS.
