OTR (old-time radio) fans will meet Tuesday, November 4 at 1:30 p.m. in SaddleBrooke. They will listen to Lux Radio Theatre’s To Have and Have Not from October 14, 1946, starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. The well done adaption of the 1944 movie retains the best scenes from the movie. At the time of the Lux show Bacall had just turned 22.
Club members come from SaddleBrooke, Oro Valley and Tucson. They listen to OTR shows and share interests, experiences and enjoyment in radio programs from the 1930s to 1950s.
In recent months, members have listened to Dimension X’s masterpiece The Martian Chronicles from 1950, heard Herb Morrison’s 1937 complete one hour recording of the Hindenburg airship disaster and watched the 1942 movie Here We Go Again with Fibber McGee and Molly, Edgar Bergen with Charlie and Mortimer, Ray Noble, the Great Gildersleeve, Wallace Wimple and Ginny Simms.
