October Brown Bag – “The Aristocrats of Automobiles: Axel’s Wheels”

The Aristocrats of Automobiles: Axel’s Wheels will be presented by Guest Speaker Axel Holm.

Get ready to motor in style when Axel Holm tells tales of America’s sweetest rides. This talk will focus on the origins of the Olympian Cars, or what we loosely call the luxury car.

A native of Nogales, Axel Holm is motivated to keep a record of the history of Nogales as well as promoting “the importance of the border cities as a think tank for Latin American studies.”

This story will not go into Model T’s and A’s and Volkswagens. Rather Cords, Duesenbergs, Auburns, Lincolns, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Cadillac, Bugatti, Packard, Pierce Arrow, Facel Vega, Hispano Suiza and the like will be featured.

Axel declares, “I have known about four automobile designers and their work is a signature no less than that of an artist on canvas.”

Join us October 16 for a traditional Pathfinders Brown Bag meeting. This will take place at the Auditorium of the Arizona History Museum of the Arizona Historical Society (AHS), 949 East Second Street.

Free parking is available in the AHS parking lot on Second Street and Euclid, across the street from the Marriott Hotel.

The doors open at 6:00 p.m.; we welcome our guest speaker at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
