Nick Gallardo

SaddleBrooke favorite takes the stage in a one-man show.

You may have seen Nicholas Gallardo play guitar and sing some Ritchie Valens tunes. You may have been there to hear him croon the songs of Paul Anka and the Everly Brothers. You may have been in the audience recently when he and three other lads brought the house down with December 63: The Original Jersey Boys tribute concert. But for one performance – Saturday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m. – the audience at the DesertView Performing Arts Center will have Nicholas Gallardo all to itself.

Nicholas Gallardo in Concert is a one-man show produced by Khris Dodge Entertainment and is 90 minutes of non-stop music, song, dance, comedy and more. Backed up by a six piece band, Nick will sing the songs that have inspired him and share stories of his journey that brought him to the stage more than 20 years ago.

“I got my start performing in the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus when I was 8 years-old,” says Nick. “In my four and a half years with the group, I traveled internationally, sang with legends like Linda Ronstadt and got my foundation for what it means to be a performer. A lot of what I learned in Boys Chorus I still use today and I’m proud to pay tribute to the chorus during my show.”

After graduating from Tucson High Magnet School, where he cultivated his love of theater and guitar, Nick continued his quest for the stage. His breakthrough role as quirky Leaf Coneybear in Arizona Onstage Productions’ 2010 The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee won him the local MAC award for Best Actor in a Musical and solidified his love for the stage. His July 30 show will feature some of Nick’s favorite Broadway show tunes, including the classic ballad Bring Him Home from Les Miserables.

Nicholas Gallardo in Concert is a love letter of sorts from Nick to the audience as he continues on his musical journey and he is excited to bring that to SaddleBrooke. “These performances represent the songs that inspire me and I’m excited to share that with the audience. Seeing people singing along and having fun brings me the greatest amount of joy. It’s always rewarding.”
