On March 18 GLAAS sponsored a “Meet the Artists” event at Absolutely Art Gallery and Gifts in Catalina. A number of GLAAS members are talented artists who are represented at the gallery.

On March 9 guest speaker Professor Nell Brownell, PHD gave a presentation on the history of lesbian and gay identity in America.

On March 4, GLAAS hosted a party for all its new members at the beautiful home of Perry Shapiro. GLAAS has seen a large expansion in membership, which now exceeds 100 SaddleBrooke residents!

Upcoming events:

April 13: 5:30 p.m. at SaddleBrooke One Activity Center Potluck and Social. Our fabulous Social Committee has something fun planned. If you haven’t attended a GLAAS event this year, come and meet our members.

May 11: SaddleBrooke One Activity Center, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Masterpiece Cakeshop vs. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. Does a baker have the right to refuse to make a wedding cake for a same-sex marriage? Come hear the actual oral arguments before the US Supreme Court. Discussion and wedding cake afterwards.

Throughout the year, GLAAS sponsors educational forums as well as social events related to its mission of fostering tolerance and support for LGBT people and their allies.
