On Monday, September 8, 2014, the MountainView Lady Putters held their annual fashion show luncheon. While unremitting rain fell outside, members were treated to a vibrant showing of fall fashions presented by Catalina Ranch House Ltd. Models from MVLP were attired in stylish print tops in a variety of designs, colorful Bermuda shorts, crystal adorned tanks and jackets and fashionable hats and jewelry to fit any occasion. Member models included Aileen Hartley, Ro Conti, Betty Magee, Rachel Wankling, Pat Fink, Karel Titone, Cathy Scott, Raye Cobb, Gay Uhl and Marcia Munich.
Awards for August putting were announced during the luncheon. The following putters received trophies for their outstanding play:
Roadrunner Award (low gross score): Tie – Candy Urbanik and Jo Helms
Lou Ann Garvin Tiger Award (low net score): Candy Urbanik
Hole in Wonder: Joyce Heater
Due to the MountainView course closure for overseeding, there will be no putting from September 22 until October 12. Putting resumes on October 13, 2014, at our winter tee times, 8:45 and 10:15 a.m. Weekly news blasts will be sent out to members during overseeding to provide updates to the closure schedule. Monthly luncheon time will move to 12:00 noon with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. Our 2015 Board candidates will be introduced at the October 13 luncheon.
Coming up on October 22, 2014, is our Putter Partner Fall Frolic. Now is the time to sign up for this afternoon of fun. Invite a friend and join us for late afternoon putting with a grill buffet dinner to follow. The cost is $18 per person and deadline to sign up is October 13, 2014.
