Monsoon madness-—that delight we all feel when the rains begin, delivering relief from the grueling summer heat and humidity-—makes us want to run outside and dance! But here in Tucson, the lightning capital of the world, that could be deadly! On July 30, the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club had a better and safer, idea—-take it inside! As monsoon clouds gathered at 5:00 p.m., twenty-six line dancers gathered at the beautiful home of our club President Terri Gage. The madness started with a flood of margaritas, followed by a torrent of delicious appetizers and ending with a deluge of delicious desserts—-all contributed by the party attendees. A bowling contest, using empty juice bottles and a small soccer ball, was cleverly arranged by our Social Chairman Lynne Kumza. Long-armed Krisse Arthur proved that lightening wasn’t the only thing that can throw strikes around here. To thunderous applause, her strike and a spare won the coveted prize-—a Spanish fan! Afterward we all adjourned to the garage—-yes the garage—-to do some line dancing! Amazing how many dancers can fit in a three car garage! Big thanks—-of monsoon proportions—-to our hosts Terri and Glen Gage.
