MOAA news – October 2014

Mitch Steinberg

Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is a nonprofit veterans’ association dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and to preserve the earned entitlements of members of the uniformed services, veterans and their families and survivors.

Membership is open to those who hold or have ever held a warrant or commission in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or NOAA and their spouses. MOAA chapter members are more than just members. They successfully influence national, state and local government. The chapter also recognizes outstanding young people (ROTC and JROTC) and helps others in time of need.

The Tucson Chapter of MOAA has planned its schedule of meetings for SaddleBrooke, for 2014/2015. If you are an active duty or former warrant or commissioned officer and are interested in adding your voice and talent to the issues that affect you and your family, consider joining MOAA. The scheduled meetings are October 11, November 8, 2014 and January 10, February 14 and March 14, 2015.

The MOAA Tucson Chapter has held meetings in SaddleBrooke for the past two years. We feel there is sufficient interest and participation in the SaddleBrooke Military Community to formally establish a SaddleBrooke Satellite Chapter.

Note: The October meeting was an organizational meeting to discuss how to make this happen. It was attended by Colonel Allen Rossow, Arizona Council of Chapters, and MOAA members from the newly formed MOAA Grand Canyon Chapter who attended to share their experiences. Results of this meeting will be addressed in next month’s article.

Please plan to attend the next meeting in November. Contact MOAA Tucson President Colonel Tom Owens at 760-3476, [email protected] or Mitch Steinberg at 825-0735, [email protected] for details. Check our website: www.tucsonmoaa.com for chapter information.
