On August 10 Mike Harris enjoyed the thrill of making his first hole-in-one. Congratulations! Just in case you are counting, that is number 14 for MPMGA members this year. Many of you will remember that Mike was last year’s Tournament of Champions winner. It certainly appears that he enjoys having his name in print. We applaud your accomplishments. Enjoy!

Mike started playing golf in 2005 in St. Louis at the Norwood Hills Country Club. As many of you know, Mike has thus far flunked retirement and remains one of SaddleBrooke’s active snowbirds. Yes, Mike’s first hole-in-one was scored at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Club in Alton, Illinois where Mike was playing in a tournament with long-time friends Rick Blanton, Larry Connaway and Terry Martin. The fifth hole, a Par 3 that was playing about 122 yards, was Mike’s victim. He chose his seven iron for the shot and knew once the ball was airborne that he had a real shot at an ace. Two bounces and a brief roll as straight as a string were all that was needed to produce history. Congratulations one more time!
