Author and potted garden expert Marylee Pangman will present Planting Trees in Containers in your Desert Landscape at the MountainView Clubhouse Ballroom West on January 21, 2016, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Ask Your Master Gardener program will precede the presentation from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.

Marylee Pangman is the founder and former owner of The Contained Gardener in Tucson, Arizona. She has become known as the desert’s potted garden expert and is the author of a new book, Getting Potted in the Desert. Learn how to use trees in your potted gardens. Marylee will discuss what trees work well in pots and how to plant and care for them. She will also include an in-depth discussion on using citrus trees in containers.

Artist and landscape designer Greg Corman will present Functional Art in the Garden from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. after the Ask Your Master Gardener meeting from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. in the MountainView Clubhouse Ballroom West on February 18, 2016.

Greg is a Tucson-based artist and landscape designer who works primarily with reclaimed wood, steel and found objects to create quirky functional nesting habitats for native bees, bird perches and boxes, stacked objects for lizards, etc. These sculptural habitats add a bit of color to outdoor spaces. Come hear Greg talk about the importance of pollinators in our gardens, shrubs that will attract them and how artful habitats benefit humans and the creatures that share our gardens.
