MountainView/Preserve Lady Niners (MPLN) is proud to celebrate Vice President Linda Rouse as their 2017 Club Champion. Linda shot a 92 that was the low gross score of the entire field; a great achievement.

Seventeen MPLN members played in the 2017 Club Championship tournament that was promoted by Gold Level Sponsor, Charles Schwab. The two-day event was held on April 10 on the MountainView front nine and on April 11 on the Preserve front nine courses. The field was divided into three equal flights according to handicap, with the winners being the low gross score in each flight. The event determined the overall low gross winner of the entire field.

Golf Pros Mike Jahaske and Ken Steinke were on hand to tally the scores and announce all of the winners in each of the flights.

Flight One: 1st place Diane Mazzarella with a score of 100; 2nd place Susan Elliott with a score of 101; 3rd place Becky Fisher with a score of 102

Flight Two: 1st place Linda Miles with a score of 98; 2nd place Deborah Bunker with a score of 100; 3rd place Karen Koch with a score of 101

Flight Three: 1st place Barbara Bloch with a score of 110; 2nd place Kathee Johnson with a score of 116; 3rd place Rita Smith with a score of 119

MPLN also thanks and recognizes Silver Sponsors, W & W Physical Therapy and Golf Carts of Arizona for the Closest to the Pin event. Winner, Closest to the Pin on Monday, hole No. 8 at MountainView, was Kay Tomaszek and on Tuesday, hole No. 4 at The Preserve, was Rita Smith. Playing with the Follow the Field group, Closest to the Pin winner was Shirley Nuss. Congratulations Kay, Rita and Shirley.

To celebrate, all of the ladies, players and those who followed the field enjoyed a post-championship lunch at the MountainView Bistro-East Patio.

A special thanks to Shirley Nuss who made the arrangements for the lunch and to Holly Riviere for taking the photographs.

A perfect way to end this year’s event.
