As if the temps hadn’t been high enough, the SaddleBrooke Lady Niners aren’t letting the heat keep them from playing and enjoying the course. They began the month of June by wrapping up the President’s Cup competition. After four rounds of match play, our 2017 winner emerged. Our winner this year is Lois Kelly! Lois is followed by second place winner Kathleen Weiss and third and fourth places were won by Barbara Johnson and Carol Thompson. Congratulations to all!

June 13 brought a fun round of golf, followed by a delicious brunch and our General Meeting. The meeting included handing out numerous awards for all manner of member achievements since January, as well as general announcements for the membership. Unfortunately, our invited guest – a representative from Girls’ Junior Golf of Tucson – was not able to attend this year. So instead of giving it in person, we are sending them a check for $200 – our donation to this most worthy group that encourages the young players.

By the time this paper goes to print, we will have played in one of our favorite events of the year – the annual Niners Unite on July 11. This is a fun game where we team up with our counterparts from the SaddleBrooke Men’s Niners. Charlotte James, the tournament chair, always has a great game planned for us, followed by lunch and lots of camaraderie. Stay tuned in the next edition for the winners and photos.

As you can see, we don’t let a little heat get in the way of our fun activities. Why not come and join us? Simply pick up an application from the computer room of the Pro Shop or give Debbie Thompson a call at 333-9564. We’d love to have you join us!
