Road trip! A dozen of our members headed out to the Tucson Desert Art Museum to have a look at the current exhibit called Colors to Dye For. It showed how the beautiful Southwestern palette colors produced by the Navajos were done with a variety of materials found in nature. This exhibit also took an in-depth look at the history of indigo and red, as well as showing the transformation of how wool is made into yarn. This exhibit runs through December.

In August, we also had a helpful lesson on substituting yarn. President Bobbi Forsch found a website that gave wonderful tips so we all could be successful using a different yarn than what the pattern calls for.

The Knit Wits meets each Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke HOA1 Arts and Crafts Center, Room No. 4. There will be some new programs offered in the fall; one is Fingerless Gloves. Feel free to drop by and see how we operate; we are friendly and you can do as much or as little as you want when it comes to projects, creating items for charity donations and attending classes. We welcome those who crochet as well.
