Fall is here and the Knit Wits are planning interesting activities. We will have a guest speaker in November who will show our group how to custom dye yarns. This is so exciting! This person is a well-known yarn dyer who has just moved to Tucson.

Our members will also have the opportunity to make a funky scarf from their leftover yarns and this will actually be sewn together on machines. A little different idea created by one of our members.

In December we will have our annual holiday party and preparations are underway. We have decided to make scarves for the Family First moms who get baby items from us. Family First is one of our chosen charities this calendar year. This will be a nice surprise for them to get these handmade gifts.

Members are starting to create lovely items for the holidays. Christmas stockings, cute animal scarves, doll clothes and shawls are just a few of the things our ladies are working on.

The first Wednesday of each month is Show and Tell. It is a good place to get inspiration for that next project or maybe a new idea for some of the stash yarn. Our group meets every Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the HOA 1 Arts and Crafts Center, Room 4. Newcomers are always welcome and if you need help getting started, we can assist with that too. Come meet us!
