Knit Wits news

One of our favorite classes: dyeing yarn with the famous Mary Gavan.

2019 is off to a great start for the Knit Wits. We had our monthly “show and tell” which always gives us lots of ideas, especially for the new year. It sometimes also gives us just the poke we need to finish off an old WIP (work in progress) or one of our UFOs (unfinished objects). The room does get a bit packed in January (just like the fitness centers) but there will always be a welcoming smile if you’d like to stop by to check us out. We are excited to see our snowbird friends return.

First on the agenda, we will be doing a road trip to Mammoth to see Kids’ Closet. We are excited to have a guided tour; many members knit hats for the kids up in that area.

We are also gearing up for our annual Troop Support Baby Shower, which will be in February. Our members knit blankets, sweaters, hats, booties and sometimes purchase various essential items for mom and baby. Items then get put into baskets for the military families expecting babies. We are happy to be a part of this event for our veterans.

Knit Wits meets each Wednesday morning from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke One Arts and Crafts Center Room 4. It’s a great time to join us for lively knit and crochet talk, annual dues are $12. Feel free to stop in.
