Knit Wits news

Carol Chiarello

Our knitters are enjoying the pleasant fall weather. A group of more than 20 ladies gathered at Dianne Barnard’s home for a lovely potluck meal. The weather was perfect for enjoying the outdoors, the camaraderie, the food and a little time left over to work on a knit or crochet project. Thank you, Dianne, for being a gracious hostess.

Those who were interested recently took the Ravelry, Part 2 class taught by Linda Hood. Ravelry is a helpful website for the fiber arts, containing photos and ideas for all the yarn in your stash. Linda explained how to post a photo of a finished project so others could take a look at how the yarn works up for a specific pattern.

Knit Wits gives good ideas to those who want to re-learn an old skill or to challenge your brain and gain new proficiencies. The first Wednesday of each month is Show and Tell, where you can be dazzled by items the ladies have created; for example, shawls and hats, baby items, doll clothes, crochet items—the list goes on. We welcome folks from SaddleBrooke Ranch to also come check us out; new knitters are welcome any time of the year. You can find us in the HOA One Arts and Crafts Center in Room 4. We are there every Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
