It’s not just “another” auction – it’s the Treats and Talents Charity Auction

We know SaddleBrooke’s got talent, so consider donating your talents to support this unique auction that raises money for children and families in need. And mark your calendars! After a year off, we are gearing up for the 8th SaddleBrooke Treats and Talents Charity Auction which will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the HOA One Clubhouse. Proceeds from this auction support various charities such as Impact, SaddleBrooke Community Outreach, SaddleBrooke Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Youth on Their Own and Adopt-a-Family. Our last auction raised over $36,000, thanks to the generous support from community donors as well as SaddleBrooke residents.

This auction has something for everyone. If you like to learn new things, sign up for some of the fixed price classes. This past year talented SaddleBrooke residents offered cooking classes, beading classes, chocolate turtle candy making classes and a puff pastry class, just to name a few of these great events. People who like to party signed up for the Beach Boys Blowout, a USO Canteen party, a fire-pit party, or the Mexican Fiesta hosted by the SaddleBrooke Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Purdy and Bob Bowers offered Birds and Brunch at Catalina State Park where participants learned about local birds from experienced birders and enjoyed a delicious brunch after their hike. Olive oil enthusiasts enjoyed a Taste and Savor evening at Alfonso Gourmet Olive Oil and Balsamics and music lovers signed up Singspiration hosted by Tex and Carole Whitney.

At the last auction we had over 100 great gift certificates for such things as massages, acupuncture, pedicures and of course, meals at wonderful local restaurants. We had well over 150 silent and live auction items. So come on March 11 and see what we have to offer! We hope you will also get involved by donating your Treats and Talents to the auction. Consider getting a group of your friends and neighbors together and hosting a party, a theme dinner, or a fire-pit party. Host a class and teach people how to knit, bead, cook or bake. If you’re eating out or shopping, ask for a donation; merchants are much more likely to donate if you are spending money at their venue! Remember, this is a SaddleBrooke auction so we welcome participation from throughout the SB community. Donation forms can be downloaded from our website at www.treatsandtalentscharityauction.weebly.com.
