A great time was had by all at the Father’s Day Dinner on June 17. The temperature was predicted to be 109 degrees so the time of the dinner was moved from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. hoping it would cool down. And it did! We enjoyed a fabulous buffet cooked by Chef Dave. The skirt steak was tender and delicious and the chicken antibiotic-free and yummy. Several people went back repeatedly for additional helpings. It was that good.

Bill Kaplan came up with an innovative idea for the men. He personally bought lottery tickets as a gift for each of the JFG members present. The winning numbers were announced at 7:00 p.m. so everyone knew if they won or lost before leaving. Everyone who attended felt they were winners even though they didn’t win the lottery.

Our next JFG function will be a Happy Hour on Thursday, August 3 at 5:00 p.m. in the East Room at the HOA2 Bistro. JFG will provide an hors d’ oeuvre station: Roast beef wrapped asparagus; Ahi Tuna flatbread; vegetarian spring rolls with dipping sauce

There is no charge for this event. We look forward to seeing all of our members at this midsummer event.

Currently there are no Ladies’ Coffees scheduled. If you would like to volunteer and host a summer coffee, please contact Leslie Nagy at [email protected].

The Co-ed Book Club has received over 20 nominations for next year’s reading list and the voting will take place in July.

Our group has been enhanced by several new members this year. Each meeting was well attended with lively discussion and we look forward to our meetings next season, so watch out for the email from Sandy Epstein and volunteer to host a session.
