In memory of Norm Beasley

James E Cox

His life was filled with music,

which we were blessed to share.

At parties and each Flag Day,

he’d sing with style and flair.

In youth he’d sung with renowned bands

and played on his trombone.

With us he always had a way

to please us with his baritone.

His gift to us…a winning smile

that lit the room as he would sing.

A score of Flag Day services…

“God Bless the USA” brought zing.

If there’s a band in heaven,

and I am sure there is,

Norm now sings to angels

with that flair of his.

We will always miss him,

although he’s held within.

The cords will always bind us,

and he’ll remain therein.
