Mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 20 to learn about “Hiking in Norway’s Fjordland.” Laurel Parrott, a local photographer and hiker, will share her July 2018 experience participating in a nine-day Sierra Club Outing from Bergen to Oslo that explored this hiker’s paradise. The presentation will concentrate mostly on five hikes in Balestrand and the Sognefjord area that illustrate some of the diversity of the hiking available in Norway—panoramic fjord and mountain views, raging waterfalls, dense forests, blue-ice glaciers and expansive tundra hikes.

Laurel and her husband Terry moved to SaddleBrooke in January of 2015 and have participated in SaddleBrooke Hiking Club outings and trips ever since arriving. She is an avid member of both the SaddleBrooke Photography Club and the Digital Imaging Group of SaddleBrooke (DIGS).

Residents of SaddleBrooke are invited to attend the meeting at the SaddleBrooke One Activity Center at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20. You do not need to be a member of the hiking club to attend. Following the meeting there will be a social hour in the Agave Lounge at the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse. Remember there is no street parking near the Activity Center. For more information about the meeting or to learn more about the hiking club, please contact Ellen Citron at [email protected] or 520-818-1666.
